Welcome

The Canadian Obstetrical Brachial Plexus Working Group includes the leaders at every Canadian multidisciplinary centre that treats infants with nerve injury. To provide consistent information to physicians, therapists, and families, our group has developed a clinical practice guideline. Our recommendations guide identification, referral, treatment, and outcome assessment for OBPI.

Canadian experts agree ALL infants with a brachial plexus injury should be referred to a multidisciplinary centre by 1 MONTH of age to optimize care.

The complete clinical practice guideline can be found here, on BMJ Open.

For more information on what brachial plexus injuries are, and how they're treated see Information for Families, and Links.

Contact information for each centre is available under National Experts. Referrals for children with OBPI can be made using our Referral Form.
